Working primarily on the XOE project, a complete end-to-end solution for PDAs and other resource constrained devices. XOE, previously known as PocketLinux, is an open source framework based entirely on Linux, Java, and XML. Day to day engineering work included maintaining the build system, kernel programming, Java applications programming, JVM internals and JNI coding. Other experience includes building cross compiler tool chains and creating embedded Linux distributions.
Field Applications Engineer — MathEngine Inc (Oxford, England and San Francisco, CA)
August 1999-July 2000
Worked with customers to help bring realistic physics to the next generation of computer games. Involved coding in C/C++ and experience using many next generation gaming platforms. Where possible all work was Linux based. Three months spent in Tokyo working on Japanese launch title for PS/2.
Other skills acquired include CVS, Bugzilla and project management using make and autoconf. Also worked on the MathEngine developer web site using MySQL, Perl, and PHP.
